Application context

METAENERGY cast-resin busway — up to 10 kV, IP68, for substations and harsh environments. Used where cable systems cannot meet operational or dimensional requirements. Customers include substation owners, energy service and electrical contractors, oil and gas, chemical, metallurgical, and transport infrastructure facilities.

Typical challenges

  • Cable replacement is limited by constraints on dimensions, supports, and routing.
  • Specifications require moisture, dust, and aggressive environment protection with documented certification.
  • Fire safety requirements can only be met with complete certification package and current datasheet.
  • Proper interface with MVA/MVS low-voltage distribution is required.

METAENERGY solution

  • Cast-resin busway IP68, installed per project with allowances for clearances and supports.
  • Housing resistant to chemicals, UV, and high-pressure washing. Characteristics certified per datasheet.
  • Fire operability of at least 240 min — per datasheet. Datasheet and catalog provided for acceptance.
  • Direct interface with MVA and MVS busbar trunking per project specifications and catalog.

When to choose cast-resin busway

When cable systems cannot provide the required IP68 protection, chemical resistance, or fire performance, design organizations consider cast-resin busway. This applies to compact enclosed substations, high-density equipment retrofits, and installations with limited mounting space.

Cast-resin busway is used in generation and distribution circuits up to 10 kV, with rated currents up to 6300 A. System service life is specified in the type datasheet; certain configurations claim a service life comparable to long-term operation of cable lines under similar conditions.

Below — STA and STS cast-resin busway series (up to 10 kV, IP68). Cast-resin busbar trunking IP68 up to 1 kV is a separate SVA/SVS series; link in the range section below.

Products

METAENERGY cast-resin busways are available in two conductor materials — aluminum and copper. Both series have IP68 protection, are installed from factory-ready sections, and are compatible with MVA/MVS busbar trunking.

Each product line includes sections with rated currents from 800 to 6300 A in 1L, 2L, 3L configurations. Specific section types and part numbers are available in the manufacturer's catalog.

Complete factory assembly

Each busway section is delivered ready for installation. Specifications are documented in the datasheet and catalog — the basis for design approval.

Advantages

Cast-resin busways address requirements where not only electrical parameters matter, but also environmental resistance and ease of installation.

Integration into low-voltage distribution

Connection to MVA and MVS busbar trunking systems per design solutions, without extra adapters when geometry is coordinated. Conductors and connection assemblies are agreed upon at the design stage.

Verified specifications

Heat dissipation through housing, fire resistance, mechanical strength — parameters are documented in the product datasheet. Scope of acceptance testing is determined by the project and specifications.

Performance in harsh conditions

Housing is non-combustible, rodent-resistant, does not create draft. Suitable for a wide range of climatic zones, including Arctic and desert environments — per version datasheet.
